Mom & Dad @ the Beach
The Atlantic Ocean
Well, I just got back from visiting my parents in Jacksonville,Florida. Yes, my parents have become a part of the "Senior Set of Florida". It was a great visit despite the hurricane-type rain for the last few days of my visit. Whenever I visit my parents, my dad always plans an outing...always. We were blessed that this outing took place before the hurricane-type rain made an appearance. With me @ the wheel, dad in the backseat and mom as the co-pilot, we headed to Amelia Island. We spent time watching the beach-goers & the Atlantic Ocean, while enjoying the ocean air. The weather was perfect! Of course, a visit to a beach town is not complete without enjoying some seafood. We found a quaint seafood restaurant in the Historic District and had lunch. As a foodie, I have to say the shrimp and crabmeat burger, as well as the hush puppies were yum-o (to borrow Rachel Ray's cooking word).
As parents get older, family visits become more precious and important. Please don't take these visits for granted & make sure you take pictures to document the visit.
