My friend Nicole wrote about Earth Hour on her blog (http://www.peacelovenicole.com/2010/03/earth-hour-saturday-march-27.html) and I decided to find out what this event was all about. I'd not heard of it & was really curious about it; especially since I learned so much about global warming in the Science class I just finished last month. After venturing to the website (http://www.myearthhour.org/about) and reading the info, I decided to participate & recruit my mom. So, recruiting my mom was easy; but convincing her that I was not going to burn up (since I was going to light candles around the house)was another story. LOL. Mom was quite serious that I needed to watch the candles and make sure to not catch on fire. Yes, she was totally right in voicing her concern. I promised her I would be very careful with the candles....and I was.
How did I spend my 60 minutes? I read The Washington Post. Before I knew it, it was 9:45pm. Right then & there, I resolved to spend at least 1 night a week using candle light. Below is a video, which documents my start in participating in Earth Hour. Have a green evening, my friends. Ciao!
Oh how awesome! I love the idea of making a video. I should have done that.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed Earth Hour. And you got your mom involved too! Way to go. The Earth thanks you.
