I didn't know what I was going to write about for this blog, so I decided to review pictures I took in the last week. Many of them were nature pictures I took at Brookside Gardens & along the Sligo Creek Parkway Trail. And then I saw the above picture...the picture of the afghan I've been working on since July 2003.
Yes, I've been working on this afghan for almost 7 years. My cousin Kia, who is an amazing crocheter, taught me how to crochet in 30 minutes.(Knitting was too hard for me.) Every year she will ask me if I've finished this project. Of course, I say "No" and we laugh about it. In February she called me & wanted to know if I was done yet. Of course I gave my usual answer, but I promised her I would send her a picture. Hence, the lovely picture above. As always, Kia reassures me that I will complete it & tells me to keep on crocheting. :-)
In some ways, I could stop crocheting this afghan and it would be considered "DONE" and be available as a baby gift; however,I want to continue on & complete it by July 2010. You see, 7 is the # of completion & refinement in the Bible. The number 7 has always fascinated me & yet when I least expected it, I have this uncanny ability to link something in my life to this #. Funny, today is April 7th. Hmm
