I had to get fingerprinted again, but in DC this time. Going to the Metropolitan Police Department Headquarters was a very interesting experience. Just getting into the building is an experience, since you have to go through security. Leave it to me to forget that I had a pair of mini sewing scissors in my purse. When the security guard asked me to show them to her, she started laughing because they were smaller than they appeared on the screening monitor. They did not confiscate them. (If you're a Law & Order fan, you know that any item no matter how small can be a weapon.)
After passing my security check, I made my way to the 3rd floor for the fingerprinting office. Upon my arrival, I encountered the infamous "information desk", which was manned by 2 individuals. By the time I approached the desk, an employee announced she was going to lunch; however, she had to stop and talk to the lady who was now the only employee helping the public. Oh, me; oh, my! I received my fingerprinting and background check form with a bill. I was directed to go to the first floor to pay my $35 and then come back to the 3rd floor information desk.
Walking in & finding your way around in this building is like being in a cornfield maze!I got lost twice, but I encountered some buffed, good lucking police officers along the way. You know I smiled my cutest smile. LOL Once I finally found the cashier room, I was lucky to only have to wait 5 minutes to meet with a cashier. Now that was an experience. The cashier counted my $35 (7-$5 bills) 4 times. She had trouble counting by 5s. Oh, me; oh, my!

I found my way back up to the 3rd floor & the infamous information desk. Once directed to the fingerprinting room, I meet Officer Fua, who made this visit worthwhile. He was some kinda fit & good looking. Having him take my fingerprints, which are done electronically, was worth this adventure. Needless, to say, I will be seeing Officer Fua next month when I have to get my fingerprints done again when I apply for my teaching license after taking my certification exams. There's a whole lot of fingerprinting going on!
