Random Chit-Chattering

This morning, I had a delightful conversation with a woman while waiting in line at Comcast for 45 minutes. We talked about education, snow, her Naval officer son, grad school, traveling, the high cost of cable in Montgomery County, her daughter in college, BBC America, Italy, Hawaii and the difference btw US & international news reporting. Upon paying our bills and walking out to the parking lot, we each expressed how enjoyable it was to have the conversation we had. She encouraged me to follow my desire to get back traveling again. She sensed that I would like Hawaii, so she told me that I need to go there. Hmm.

My adventures of encountering interesting people did not stop there.

While at the hair salon, I met an 81 year old woman (Ann), who in about 15 minutes shared so many things about her life that I felt I had a small clue as to who she was. This lady keeps busy--she volunteers @ AFI, the local library, exercises every day from 2:15 to 3:15 at the gym, she swims 3 days a week, takes a daily walk, attends & volunteers at her local Armenian church and she still does some consulting work as a corporate trainer. And...she's a fashionista. Wow! Ann is amazing and was a reminder to me to not let the grass grow under my feet. Life is short & you have to participate in it. Like Nike tells us...JUST DO IT!

Engaging in these two conversations with these 2 ladies was delightful for me. It was so RANDOM. Even though I may not see these ladies again, it was just fun to chit chat and laugh with them. Wow...life is good!
