Last week I was in Florida visiting mom & dad. We decided to go to Amelia Island again to enjoy the ocean air and watch the waves. Now keep in mind, it was an overcast day & the waves were high because Hurricane Bill was passing by. We packed the car: stadium chairs, radio, card table, morning paper & breakfast snacks. Once there (at 9:15am), we found a great spot on the beach & set-up our stuff. There were plenty of people just sitting on the beach relaxing and surfers just "catching the waves". At one point, a helicopter hoovered over the ocean for about 15-20 minutes and everyone on the beach focused their attention on what the helicopter was doing. Even the surfers stopped & just floated on their boogie boards, while the life guards just sat in their chairs watching too. What a mystery!
