The last time I was in summer school, it was the summer before I entered 6th grade. I took a typing class. There wasn't any homework.
For the last two months, I have been in summer school @ Trinity University. Currently, I am working on a MA in Teaching (early childhood track). I've been a very busy student this summer: writing article reviews, developing & writing lesson plans, going on field trips, being videotaped conducting lessons, writing reflections, designing math & science learning centers, participating in a mock team meeting and observing students with exceptionalities. Since I began this journey (August 2008), I've not questioned my decision to become a grad student for the second time. Has it been challenging? YES! Is all this hard work worth it? YES! I'm keeping my eyes on the prize....becoming a certified early childhood teacher.
